Stormy, husky, brawling, city of big shoulders, city in a garden... Carl Sandburg
Remembering Chicago as a young man
In the summer we met in the park and played...
without an organization.
We knew the rules...
we went to Cub games if we were lucky.
The park and harbor at Diversey were home in these years.
All sports were spontaneous events...
we had each other and no deadlines.

Chicago Catholic Charities Gala of the Arts at Navy Pier
along with 12 other Chicago artists.
This very important fund-raising event supports the needy of the Catholic Archdiocese.
I am honored to lend my hand on

I hope that you will join me and share the art of the two wonderful artists (and some of my work, too).

Skyscrapers Stand Proud
The Skyscrapers stand proud.
They seem to say they have
sought the absolute
and made it their own.
Yet they are blameless,
innocent as dumb steel and the dumber
concrete of their bastions.
“Man made us,” they murmur. “We are
proud only as a man is proud and we
have no more found the absolute
than has man.”
